About this image:
Location: Sotheby’s Auction House, London, 2009
Exhibited at The Unauthorised Retrospective, Sotheby’s and curated by Banksy’s former agent Steve Lazarides, without the approval of Banksy. “He has nothing to do with it”, said Lazarides, “apart from the fact he painted all the paintings, of course.” The prints were produced in a limited edition of 20, in six different coloured formats and were reported to have sold for a record £50,400. Stories later circulated that Banksy was to paint a mural at the Highgate home of Kate Moss, though there were differences in opinion as to whether it was to be a commission from Miss Moss or a wedding gift from Banksy. In May 2010, according to the Daily Mirror newspaper, intruders broke into Kate Moss’s home and stole three art pieces, including a Banksy worth $120,00.
